David, Emma and Brian with one of many triples on Silvers!

WATER TEMPERATURE AND CLARITY:
Water temps have been hovering right around 56F and clarity has been good in the 6-8ft range.

WEATHER CONDITIONS:
The weather this week has been fairly overcast with some periodical showers. A couple days have been windy with gusts as high as 40mph.

HOT FLY OF THE WEEK:
The black & white Dali Lama has been the go-to fly for the silvers whereas the bead and “pegged” flesh has been great for the trout and dollies. Sight casting to laid up trout with single weightless beads has also been an effective tactic.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK:
Emma, her father, David, and friend, Brian, fished as a trio all week and had several triple hook ups on silvers throughout the week, keeping our guides very busy with their hook releases!

QUOTE OF THE WEEK:
“What family has no mariner in its tree? No fool, no felon, no fisherman.”

WILDLIFE SPOTTED:
Wildlife sightings have slowed down now that fall is closing in. Beaver have been active and some fresh bear and wolf tracks have been seen on the gravel bars where dead salmon accumulate. Most of the migratory birds have moved out and migrating flocks of Speckle Belly Geese are currently dominating the skies.

COMMENTS FOR THE WEEK:
Fishing has been great! We’re having one of the best runs of silver salmon in recent memory. The trout have really picked up and dollies have been lights out in the main river and mouths of side channels. Looking like a strong finish to our ’23 season.
